Salesforce Foundation was set up to harness the energy of the salesforce.com community to make a positive difference in people's lives through delivering services to the Third Sector. They are involved with a number of youth and technology based projects throughout the world as well s donating the Salesforce.com application to certain Not For Profit organisations.

Marc Benioff, the founder of Salesforce.com, is an advocate of compassionate capitalism and believes that "the value of a corporation should be fully distributed not only to its leaders, but also to the communities in which it operates and the global community as a whole." He set up the Salesforce Foundation in order to fulfil this view.
Salesforce.com gives 1% of our employee’s time to volunteering. That is 4 hours per month per employee – or 6 paid days a year. Last year 100% of the company departments participate in this program and the 200 employees worldwide donated thousands of hours of volunteer time to the community.
